Both replace the bath. The difference is whether the shower has a door.
Shower enclosure
A shower behind doors that slide or open, which keeps the water in. The pink suite job ended up with a sliding-door enclosure and a rainfall shower.

What's involved
A bath to shower conversion usually means:
- Taking out the bath, old tiles and fittings
- Moving the waste and water pipes to where the shower goes
- A shower tray with a fixed shower screen or an enclosure
- Tiles or waterproof wall panels
- A new shower, and a new basin, toilet or towel rail if you're changing those too
- Clearing up when we've finished
It can make a bathroom safer, too. In August 2026 we took out the bath for a customer in Godmanchester who wanted something easier to use, and fitted a walk-in shower enclosure with an anti-slip tray, a fixed shower screen and anti-slip flooring. The new electric shower went on the opposite wall to make getting in and out easier.

How much does it cost to replace a bath with a shower?
It depends on the size of the room and the shower you choose. We'll come and see it, then give you a clear quote for free.
How long does it take?
It depends on the room and what's being fitted. We'll tell you how long yours will take when we come to quote.
Can I keep the bath and have a shower over it instead?
Yes. Several of our bathrooms kept the bath, with a shower over it and a bath screen. Have a look at the metro tiles and stone tiles jobs.
Is a walk-in shower the same as a wet room?
Not quite. A walk-in shower usually sits on a low shower tray behind a fixed shower screen. In a wet room, the whole floor is waterproofed and the shower drains through the floor.
