- Turn off the water at the stopcock. It's usually under the kitchen sink. If it's seized and won't turn, there's usually another one outside, on the path at the front where the water meter is.
- Open all the taps, hot and cold. The kitchen sink, the bathroom basin and the bath, to drain the water out of the pipework.
- Keep away from wet electrics. If water is near lights, sockets or the fuse box, don't touch them. Switch off at the fuse box only if it's dry and you can reach it without touching water.
- Keep out from under a sagging ceiling. Catch what you can with buckets and towels, and move anything valuable out of the way.

Amazing service from Dean. We had a pipe burst in the pub. And he was here within 10 minutes.
Our flexible hose snapped in our cloakroom WC and had to make an emergency call out on Easter Sunday evening. Dean arrived within 15 mins and undertook a temporary repair.
